Description

The year was 1998; a year after the attack on New York City by what America dubbed "Godzilla" and two years after the near. Although America called this new kaiju "Godzilla", the coasts of Japan could feel that it was not.

Sightings of Godzilla near Japan's shores were increasingly common, and this put everyone on edge. Although Junior never touched the cities, the assaults his adoptive father had done had justified such a deterrance.

However, a team of Japanese scientists soon found something in the shores near Monster Island; what looked like an unnaturally-formed rock. Inspection of the mysterious stone led to the discovery that it was an ancient artifact; something predating even the first Godzilla. The stone seemed to say a prophecy; at the year 2000, mankind would encounter aliens that would wish to colonize the planet and live in peace. Godzilla, however, was to be kept from the aliens; should they find out about his regeneration, and should the aliens use this, they would be turned into hideous beasts when they try to use his regeneration skills as a way to create a new body. This was ignored, due to how odd it sounded (although some felt that it could be true, given what had been happening throughout the 60's and 70's).

By this point, the creature from the US had been under intense debate; American scientists thought it was Godzilla, Japanese scientists pointed out that they were still seeing him even after the US's creature was killed. Niko Tatopolous, the man who had the most information on the US creature, poured over the evidence and published his findings; the US creature was not the same Godzilla as the one in Japan; although his research pointed to the two possibly being related in some capacity, which would in turn render Niko's earlier hypothesis (that the US kaiju was a heavily irradiated iguana) invalid.

Nick (as Niko was commonly called) thus decided that a new common name for the American creature was needed, but could not find a suitable name at first. This lead to the terms "GINO" (an acronym for "Godzilla In Name Only") and "Godzilla-USA" becoming highly used; these two terms were soon abandoned after the events below.

Due to the mix-up, Nick had met Miki Saegusa (Japan's leading expert on gigafauna); the two became friends, and shared research notes. The object seen on Monster Island was also being studied; and it seemed to be some kind of spaceship.

The ship began to fly, and took off over to Osaka, seemingly scanning for any suitable lifeforms to add to it's data. The ship's movements disturbed Godzilla, however; he was surprised by the vessel, and was intent on investigation. He emerged from the ocean, water dripping from his hide, and the ship hovered in the same way bricks didn't.

Godzilla growled, but didn't attack; the ship seemed to be relatively harmless, and it certainly wasn't attacking him.
After the death of his adopted father, Junior was turned into an adult, but he was noticeably different from Senior; Junior's scales were a dark gray-green, while his father's were charcoal gray. Junior's dorsal scutes were jagged and sharp, with a dark purple-pink colour; unlike Senior's blunt, bone-white dorsal scutes. Junior's face was more dinosaur-esque, unlike the more crocodile-like face of Senior, and Junior's eyes were a pale yellow with black irises, while Senior had pale gray eyes with orange irises and black pupils. Junior also stood shorter than his forerunner; whilst Senior was 80 metres, then 100 metres after the attempt to erase him from time, Junior was 70 metres; only 20 metres taller than the first Godzilla, and a mere 10 metres taller than the American creature. His thermonuclear ray was presumed to be blue, like his forerunner's.

Miki called Nick about the craft, and had he not known about the alien invasions of the 60's and 70's, he'd have laughed. But he didn't; this was a strange situation.

The vessel hung, but eventually a rainbow-like beam shot out, and washed over the stunned citizens; they felt tingly, but not much different. The ship, unbeknownst to them, was collecting data on Earth's fauna; it was a scouting ship that had been accidentally shot from the sky millions of years prior by Godzilla's ancestor; the creature had been dealing with a more malicious alien, one that was able to evade him.

The vessel turned and spotted the great dinosaur staring at it. Humanity stood at the edge of it's collective seat, hoping they didn't find out about his regenerative properties....

The rainbow beam washed over Godzilla's body, and on impulse he tensed; but after the tingling ended, the dinosaur's muscles relaxed. He was safe, and the vessel seemed to be nothing more than a scout.
Miki prayed this didn't end badly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Miki had hung up on Nick after they politely ended the conversation; it had been one year since the events of 1997, and the creature he had in his care was not the same creature that was rampant in New York; it seemed to be the last juvenile of that clutch, though.
His studies had concluded that the creature was not sterile, but that it likely lacked any reproductively-viable partners; so it couldn't make more. It also seemed to be quite tame, too; he had no problem with the creature mauling anything (except fish; meaning that his angelfish tank had to be placed in Audrey's care), and it was easy to housebreak. The small animal was around the size of an Albertosaurus when Nick got him; now, though, it was roughly 30 metres tall, 60 metres long, and weighed about 6,613.87 pounds (or 300 metric tons, 295.262 long tons or 330.693 short tons). The fastest he had seen it go was roughly 80 km/h (49.7097 km/h, or 22.2222 m/s).

However, the small saurian had some odd behaviours; sometimes Nick noticed his companion staring out at the sea longingly, as if there was something out there he felt he wanted, but couldn't see.

It was about two years later that Nick decided to contact Miki about his little saurian's behaviours, and the two decided that it may be time to bring Junior over to Japan and see if that could be what's bugging him.

The trek was fairly long, and Junior kept being distracted by fish, but eventually the Humanitarian Enigmatic Animal-Research Team (H.E.A.T, for short) made it to Japan at night. After being driven off by the military, Godzilla reemerged from the seas; displeased by the military assault he'd been dealt earlier and preoccupied with more pressing matters, the dinosaur made no effort to evade human buildings. He was focused on one goal; get to the downtown area. Junior followed the other dinosaur, and H.E.A.T tailed Junior in a helicopter with Miki (who they'd met up with at the Yokohama bay).

Godzilla stopped, and Junior stopped as well. The alien vessel was hovering in the air, motionless...

And then a hand burst from the ground below the vessel. Another giant hand soon followed, and soon the most ugly-looking monster Nick had ever seen was standing in the middle of Yokohama. The creature's forelimbs were lanky, but sported gargantuan four-fingered hands, each with a giant claw. The creature's head was unnaturally long and filled with teeth; the head also had six pairs of Godzilla-esque eyes. It was a grayish-green colour, and had stubs of purple-pink dorsal scutes sticking out of it's great hunched back. It's tail was long and segmented, and it too had stubs of purple-pink dorsal scutes. The beast's legs were stubby, with four toes per foot. The noises it created were unlike anything they'd ever heard; the low, almost mechanical bellows were right alongside high-pitched wails. The creature had a hole in it's left shoulder, and it stared at the two dinosaurs in front of it. The world waited...

And Godzilla struck with a blow to the monster's face, tearing the entire left side off. It regenerated the wound in a second.

Nick was writing down names for this new beast; he went through a few ("Failzilla", "Godzillatwo", "Muta" and "Bruticas", to name a few) before settling on "Orga", which he based on "organism".

The beast wasn't durable, but it's insane regenerative skill was enough to even the playing field. Orga's huge hands bashed Godzilla, dragging him about the city and wounding the dinosaur. Junior was less durable, and so needed a more tactical approach.

Junior tricked Orga into smashing a building's lower level, causing it to fall on the mutant. Godzilla managed to recover, and Orga freed itself from the rubble. Again, it began to bash Godzilla, but again the dinosaur's ally caught his foe's attention; this time by burning it's tail. With Orga distracted, Godzilla could recouperate and begin his own assault; the two worked together to wear down Orga.

However, Orga had one last trick; it's huge jaws opened, revealing six rows of teeth and a spear-like tongue, before they slammed down on Godzilla's chest and began slowly dragging in the dinosaur. Junior fought back, but he, too, was captured and begun to be devoured.

Junior had a moment of genius and unleashed a torrent of green-yellow fire into Orga's throat, causing the creature to moan in pain; Godzilla caught on and also unleashed a torrent of super-heated radiation into Orga's throat, further agonizing the abomination. The two focused their nuclear energy into a pulse, and like a giant fleshy firework, Orga's entire upper body erupted into an explosion of blood, guts, radiation and all sorts of other fluids. Drenched in blood, but alive, the two creatures seemed to have bonded somewhat; the US creature had a ally....as well as a name; Junior became Godzilla Junior, just as Godzilla had been before.

It would be a year later that the two kaiju would encounter Megaguirus, another monster from a prehistoric era irradiated by nuclear tests. While swift, once the dragonfly had one of her wings destroyed by a lucky shot from Godzilla, the creature was quickly obliterated by the combined force of both Godzilla and Godzilla Junior's thermonuclear heat rays, with the debris crashing to the ground. They were seemingly lost to a Dimension Tide shot, and the world could rest easy.

Or at least, that's what they wanted to happen.
